The Bible is a fascinating and intriguing book. On the one hand you can read it and leave it, that is after all what the vast majority of us do most of the time. But has the time come for you to face up to the relevance and application of the scriptures to all of your life?
Do you want to dig just a little bit deeper into the Word of God?
Our fellowship groups are about getting more from the Bible. They are not for those who think they already know it all, but rather for those who just want to humbly learn. You don’t need to have a super spiritual edge. You don’t even need to speak.
The meetings are fortnightly, on Tuesday and Wednesday (which ever suits you) and the emphasis is on informally looking at the bible. The leader of the group, Harry McKendry or William will go through a passage of scripture with the aid of some questions from a book which everyone has. In each chapter of our guide book there are lots of background notes which help us get a feel for the time when the bible passage was originally written and what it might then mean for us today whether that was 2000 or 3000 years ago.
This Autumn we are adding another group (Discipleship) to our regular small programme. The Discipleship Group is for those who are recent Christians or for those who just want to find out the basics of the Christian life and how you can develop and grow as a Christian.
It is our strong conviction that members in Maze PC should avail themselves of the opportunities afforded by any of these groups. They are places of genuine open-ness where you are not expected to have all the answers but together we can help one another to know our Saviour a little better. It’s the primary place where you will receive encouragement, pastoral concern and prayer.

A challenging book that shows how God is calling us to step out of our comfort zones and step into the extraordinary life of faith.
You're one step away from the adventure of your life. Deep within you lies the same faith and longing that sent Peter walking across the wind-swept Sea of Galilee toward Jesus.
John Ortberg invites you to consider the incredible potential that awaits you outside your comfort zone. Out of the risky waters of faith, Jesus is waiting to meet you in ways that will change you forever, deepening your character and your trust in God. The experience is terrifying. It's thrilling beyond belief. It's everything you'd expect of someone worthy to be called Lord. The choice is yours to know him as only a water-walker can, aligning yourself with God's purpose for your life in the process. There's just one requirement: you've got to get out of the boat.
Discipleship Explored - Paul wrote to the Christians who lived at Philippi, which was the main city in Macedonia. This little group of believers were the first Europeans to respond to the good news about Jesus. The theme of Paul's letter to the Philippians is found in his opening sentence where he describes himself and his colleague, Timothy, as 'servants of Christ Jesus.' In studying the book of Philippians we are going to try and discover what it means to be 'servants of Christ Jesus,' or to use another term, disciples. This material has come from the same group of people who published Christianity Explored.
Six steps to encouragement:
how words change lives
God has given every Christian an enormous privilege and gift: the power to speak his life-changing word into the lives of other people. There’s no reason for everyone to be passengers in a church – every Christian can change the lives of those around them through knowing and telling the message of God’s grace, whether in the front of a meeting, in a handwritten note, in conversation over coffee or in a thousand other ways. Every Christian can be a channel of encouragement.
