Hi folks, welcome to the second of our Nigeria team blogs. Hopefully you all had a chance to read the first blog which gave a background to Nigeria and the work of ADVANCE, one of the major projects that is run in Ogugu and the surrounding areas.

Since the last blog, we have had a team meeting to which we were able to invite and welcome Billy and Linda Abwa. They are the main long term missionaries out in Ogugu and they happen to be back in sunny little Northern Ireland for a few months! It was great to be able to meet them and spend a short time getting to know them prior to actually being in Nigeria. I’m sure it seemed to them as though they were playing a game of 20 questions as we eagerly and somewhat nervously quizzed them about our trip. They were able to fill in the gaps and give us a reasonable idea of what to expect during our time there.

This is the first of regular updates from the team from Maze & Ballinderry going to Nigeria in July on a Mission Africa trip to Ogugu.

7 of us from the Maze and Ballinderry Congregations feel that God has called us to offer our services to the people of Ogugu.  We were hesitant in coming forward as we weren’t even sure what skills we had that would be of use and didn’t know what to expect - but God has been speaking and guiding each one of us. There are 5 of us from Maze – Jacqueline Swan, Gwyneth Bradley, Caroline Patton, Jonny McConnell, & George Browne with Jill & George Ellis from Ballinderry.
