Kids For Christ (KFC)

Hello Everyone!

I hope you and your family are excited for KFC!

(Sorry in advance for the overload of information here!)
On Sunday past, you will have heard that there will be a new children’s programme on a Friday night running for the next few months under current restrictions called KIDS FOR CHRIST.

It was originally the intention that we would come together as families in our church halls for a short children’s programme next Friday night to start us off and then continue online, repeating this format every 3 weeks HOWEVER due to the current new restrictions that come into place tonight, plans have now had to be changed and so unfortunately, we will no longer be able to meet in person next week and so the programme will be online. This will be reviewed later on in the months to come and if we can come together at any point we will let you know.

On Friday 16 October, there will be a short 10 minute intro video posted onto our Facebook page at 7pm informing you of what is to come and encouraging others to join us.

Friday night, 23rd October at 7pm will be our first night together online. We will then continue this each week online at 7pm. Can I really encourage you to be a part of this as you continue to disciple your children at homeMy heart is to see our families growing together as you coninue to enjoy teaching your children the Word of God and opening more opportunities to have those faith conversations with them. Know that as much as you will be in your own home each week online, you are all part of something much bigger as together we seek and ask God to come and really minister into the hearts of our precious children.

I will be preparing a “KFC Special Family Bucket” which will have activities and worksheets that you can do together as a family relating to what we will be learning each week as you tune in online.
Videos will be posted on our YouTube channel and the link will be posted on our Facebook page, website and will be sent to you!

On Thursday night, 22nd October, there will be a KFC DRIVE THROUGH from 7pm – 8pm where you can come to the church hall to collect your Family Bucket. This will contain the resources needed for the next 3 online sessions. If you are unable to call at the church car-park during this time, please let me know and I will arrange to get your resources to you!

Some will know my involvement with Precept Ministries and so another resource I would like to make available to you is a Kids Bible Study produced by Precept Ministries called “You’re a Brave Man Daniel.” This is a fantastic resource and will follow the teaching plan that I will be using for the next 6 weeks. For those whose children were P5-P7 last February time, you will remember that I spent time on a Sunday morning teaching them “How to Study the Bible” using simple skills. This resource uses those skills and really encourages them to read God’s Word for themselves. How lovely it would be for you to sit down and spend a little time doing this with them, developing what we started together at the beginning of the year. The cost of this book is £7.50 and so if you would like to buy one, let me know and I can get this for you as part of your resource pack.

I will also be doing a short info and training session for parents on this resource just to help you use and become familiar with it (it’s all very simple) via Microsoft Teams on Monday night at 8.30pm. I will sent a link for this to those who would like to purchase this book.

PLEASE can I ask you to sign up as soon as possible for this so that your resource can be prepared for your family by emailing rachel.haffey@mazepc.org. (or by Sunday night)

If you have any questions at all, or if I can be off any help in the coming weeks as you join in with KFC, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me. If there are any other families you know who would like to join us, (they don’t have to be a part of our church) please pass these details to them so a resource pack can be made available for them too!

I am excited, as together we seek to nurture your children in their faith, desiring that they become KIDS FOR CHRIST, as we boldly pray, asking God to work in their lives in these very different circumstances, knowing that He is greater and “…able to do immeasurably more than all we ask, or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” Ephesians 3:20.
