As a congregation, we have adopted and implemented the Presbyterian Church in Ireland’s ‘Taking Care Guidelines’. These guidelines seek to ensure that the congregation provides a safe environment for children, young people, vulnerable adults, volunteers and staff alike.

Child Protection is a responsibility of the Kirk Session and, on the basis of these guidelines, the Session has drawn up a Congregational Child Protection Policy and all organisations are expected to comply with this.

In addition, a Designated Person has been appointed to deal with the oversight and administration of Child Protection matters as is required by the Taking Care Guidelines.

Jacqueline Swan is responsible for Child protection at Maze Presbyterian.
